We consider it both a great joy and responsibility to care for children. Most of us are parents ourselves, so we strive to be understanding and available to the families we are privileged to serve. A vital part of our service to children begins with our outstanding staff who works hard to manage and maintain a professional, caring and supportive environment for our patients in a timely manner. Our doctors are lifelong learners. Not only have they received advanced medical training in pediatrics, they continually pursue ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest in child health care.

Dr. Jay Schwartz founded Collin County Pediatrics in 2007 with a goal of creating a pediatric and adolescent medicine practice that would combine high quality care; a warm comfortable atmosphere for both child and parent; and the newest technology to assist in the doctor and his staff in caring for your child. His philosophy is simple: He treats your child as if he or she was his own child.

Dr. Schwartz grew up in a small town of 2000 people in southwest Wisconsin and is a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. He completed his residency training at Indiana University Medical Center/Riley Hospital for Children. Dr. Schwartz has had the opportunity to work with many of the national leaders in pediatric medicine while at these institutions. He began practicing pediatrics in Texas in 1994 when stationed at Dyess AFB in Abilene and attained the rank of Major prior to completing his service commitment in 1998. More recently, he practiced for almost 8 years in Midland, Texas prior to relocating to Frisco in the summer of 2007 to start Collin County Pediatrics. While in Midland, Dr. Schwartz was an expert speaker on behalf of several pharmaceutical companies on the topics of pediatric asthma, ADD/ADHD, and appropriate uses of antibiotics in children. He also served several years as physician consultant to Midland Independent School District.  Dr. Schwartz served from 2008 to 2011 as Chief of Pediatrics at Centennial Medical Center.

Personal

Dr. Schwartz and his family live in Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney. His 3 boys attend Frisco ISD and are currently in grade school. middle school and high school. He enjoys seasonal sports with his children and helps in coaching their football and basketball teams.

Brianna
Brianna has been employed at Collin County Pediatrics since January 2009.  She is a Frisco High School graduate and has attended Collin College.  Brianna has also completed EMT training.  In her free time she participates in Kickball and Bowling leagues and is a devoted Green Bay Packer Fan.

Ryanne
Ryanne has been with us since January 2011.  She graduated from Frisco High school and has been a Medical Assistant since 2006.  She lives in Frisco with her husband and 2 children.  In her free time she is busy with her children’s soccer and baseball games.

Darla
Darla is a north Texas native that has been in the medical field since 1978.  She has been with Collin County Pediatrics since December 2008.  She is a Texas state certified EMT with paramedic training.  Her background includes EMS instructor, CPR instructor, asthma educator as well as prior office experience in the asthma /allergy field.  She has been in the pediatric field since 1985 and also has experience in the home health care field with expertise in caring for premature infants and special needs children.  She and her husband reside north of McKinney in the Squeezepenny Texas on a small ranch.  She has 2 grown daughters and 2 grandchildren.  Her hobbies include volunteering at the Children and Community Healthcare Center of McKinney, motorcycle riding and chili cook offs.
